Firefighters Find Body of Man Inside Burning Car Near Acton
Homicide detectives were investigating the discovery of a body inside a burning car Thursday morning near Acton, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Authorities had not identified the body, which was burned beyond recognition.
Firefighters found the body inside the smoldering car about 7 a.m. on Agua Dulce Canyon Road half a mile north of Soledad Canyon Road, Deputy Detta Roberts said. A .45-caliber handgun was found next to the body, she said.
Investigators did not know whether the gun had been fired, Roberts said, and were trying to determine whether the death was a homicide, a suicide or an accident.
