Lisa Bassi Leaves UC San Diego to Become Fullerton College Softball Coach

Lisa Bassi has been hired as softball coach at Fullerton College, the school announced Tuesday.

Bassi, 27, has coached the past two seasons at UC San Diego, which was ranked second in the National Collegiate Athletic Assn. Division III poll at the end of last season. She also coached at Huntington Beach High School in 1987.

Bassi, a graduate of Cal Poly Pomona, will have a full-time teaching position. She replaces Margo Davis, who resigned after 31 years at Fullerton.
