FRESNO — Cincinnati Bengals running back Ickey Woods escaped injury in a two-car collision in his hometown, police said.
Woods was driving west on McKinley Avenue and failed to stop at a red light about 7 p.m. Sunday, police said. His car hit another vehicle broadside, officers added.
The second driver, Wayne Burgess of Salinas, also was uninjured, but two of his passengers were hospitalized with minor injuries, as was a passenger in Woods’ car.
Woods, known for his distinctive Ickey Shuffle after touchdowns last season, was cited for failing to stop at a red light. Police said he was not driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
