A driverless trolley car coasted out of a service terminal in San Francisco and crashed into an apartment building across the street, slightly injuring all five passengers aboard. The incident occurred when the driver of the Union-Stockton coach, which was boarding passengers, got out to pull the overhead collector pole aside to let another car pass, transit officials said. “It’s the sort of accident that doesn’t happen very often,” Municipal Railwayspokesman Jaimie Levin said.
