Tom Kite, pro golf’s leading money winner this year, has earned a place on the U.S. Ryder Cup team to play Europe in September, the Professional Golfers’ Assn. of America announced.

Besides Kite, British Open champion Mark Calcavecchia, U.S. Open winner Curtis Strange and Chip Beck have clinched spots on the 12-man team, which will try to regain the trophy Sept. 22-24 at the Belfry in central England.
