A fire that has burned 15,000 acres of the Cleveland National Forest in northern San Diego and Riverside counties appeared to slow Sunday, and officials said they hoped to have the blaze fully contained by this evening.
The more than 2,500 federal, state and local firefighters battling the blaze had it 75% contained by Sunday afternoon, U.S. Forest Service spokesman Bill Bruggema said. Firefighters have suffered numerous minor injuries, and one has been hospitalized for smoke inhalation, Bruggema said.
