Is It True took the lead at the start, turned back a challenge from Fast Play and scored a 3 1/2-length victory in the $165,300 Jim Dandy Stakes for 3-year-olds at Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
Fast Play, the favorite, held on for second in the field of four, two lengths in front of Roi Danzig. Fire Maker trailed throughout.
Is It True returned $8 and $3.40, and Fast Play paid $2.60. There was no show wagering.
