Morse Holds Off Vista in Final Minute to Win

Vista High had the ball in Morse territory with a minute to go, but couldn’t convert on fourth and one and Morse held on for a 22-20 nonleague victory Saturday.

Morse took a 22-13 lead into halftime on two touchdowns from quarterback Teddy Lawrence, one a 20-yard run and the other an eight-yard pass.

Ututofo Faime also scored for Morse, on a two-yard run in the second quarter.

Vista then shut down Morse in the second half, but the Tigers had done their damage.

Vista’s only touchdown in the first half came on a 20-yard pass from Choo Choo Walker to Jose Castaneda.

Castaneda scored on a three-yard run in the third quarter and fullback Ken Williams closed out the scoring with a fourth-quarter one-yard touchdown run.

St. Augustine 33, Marian 0--The Saints (3-0) have outscored their opponents, 110-12.

Marian dropped to 0-3.

Hunter Buckner opened the scoring with his sixth touchdown of the season, a three-yard run.

The big story, however, was junior quarterback Chad Tomaskasoski, who was six of 14 for 106 yards with one touchdown pass and two touchdown runs.
