Burbank 5th in Senior World Series
The Burbank Bluebirds, competing in the 55-and-over age group, tied for fifth Friday in the first World Series of Senior Softball in Greensboro, N.C., after beating Syracuse, 9-3, and Lansing, 11-7.
The Bluebirds, who qualified for the World Series by finishing second in a regional tournament, defeated Fort Myers, Fla., 9-7, and lost to Millman, Va., 6-1, on Thursday.
Eighteen teams--16 from the United States and two from Canada--competed in the World Series.
