FALL SPORTS ROUNDUP : Hancock Ties Moorpark in Soccer, 1-1

In somewhat of an upset, Hancock College tied Moorpark, 1-1, in men’s soccer Tuesday at Moorpark.
Moorpark’s Romey Thornton broke a scoreless tie six minutes into the second half of the Western State Conference match, but Hancock retaliated and the game ended after two overtime periods.
“We were extremely flat and Hancock came in very high,” said Coach Frank Parodi of Moorpark (5-0-1 in conference play). Fifth-place Hancock is 1-4-1.
Women’s Volleyball
Pierce d. Bakersfield, 15-2, 15-9, 15-5--Carina Sailer recorded a team-high nine kills for Pierce (14-1, 13-1) in a Western State Conference match at Pierce.
Girls’ Volleyball
La Reina d. St. Bonaventure, 15-3, 15-3, 15-3--Heather Freeman had six kills to lead La Reina (13-1, 11-0) to its fourth consecutive Tri-Valley League title.
Agoura d. Calabasas, 15-7, 15-11, 15-13--The Chargers sealed the Frontier League title with the sweep at home.
Thousand Oaks d. Camarillo, 15-1, 15-6, 15-8--Holly Hughes recorded seven kills for the Lancers (14-1, 10-1).
L.A. Baptist d. Marshall Fundamental, 15-1, 15-2, 15-3--Andrea Lucadam had 10 kills for the Knights (13-1, 9-0).
Village Christian d. Western Christian, 15-1, 15-11, 15-6--Jana Kovar had five aces and two kills in an Alpha League match.
