The Philadelphia 76ers, who open the NBA season tonight against Milwaukee, announced the signing of forward-center Rick Mahorn to a multi-year contract. No terms were disclosed.
The 76ers received the 6-foot-10, 255-pound Mahorn, 31, from the Minnesota Timberwolves for a No. 1 draft pick in 1990 and No. 2 picks in ’91 and ’92.
