FOOTBALL: The Huntington Beach High football season has been torpedoed by an ineligible player (B1) but it could be worse: In 1987-88, after a football ineligibility cost Pasadena’s John Muir High School the league championship, the Muir basketball team forfeited every game for the same reason. . . . Officials of the CIF southern section say ineligible players caused 19 football forfeits this season, including one by Tustin’s Foothill High.
