COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Ceballos Paces Titans to Exhibition Victory
Cedric Ceballos scored 29 points and 13 rebounds to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 97-91 victory over East Melbourne of Australia in an exhibition basketball game Friday at Fullerton.
Ceballos, a senior forward, was 13 of 21 from the field. Mark Hills added 27 and Wayne Williams had 25 for Fullerton.
In the National Intercollegiate clay court championships at the Rod Laver Tennis Center in Hilton Head, S.C., UC Irvine’s Trevor Kronemann was upset in the second round.
Kronemann, the No. 2 seeded player in the tournament and fourth-ranked collegiate player in the nation, was defeated by Mark Jeffrey of Mississippi State, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3.
In California Collegiate Athletic Assn. women’s volleyball:
Chapman 3, Cal State Dominguez Hills 0--Rena Strange had nine kills to lead Chapman to a 15-13, 15-3, 15-1 victory. Dana Beardsley added six kills for Chapman (25-5, 9-3).
