Chapman Beats CS Chico, 80-79, in Boyd’s Debut

Chapman College rallied to defeat Cal State Chico, 80-79, Monday in Bob Boyd’s coaching debut at Chapman.

Rog Middleton scored 36 points, including a three-point play with 26 seconds left, and had 18 rebounds for the Panthers at home.

Chapman rallied from a 78-74 deficit with 1:31 remaining.

Boyd coached at USC from 1967-79 and was at Riverside City College before taking the post at Chapman.
