Ruiz Takes Year Off as University Coach

IRVINE — Steve Ruiz, baseball coach at University High School, is going to take the year off from coaching, Athletic Director Mark Cunningham announced Tuesday.
Ruiz, who has coached three seasons, will remain at the school and teach social studies. Ruiz told Cunningham he wanted to spend more time with his family.
