BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Master’s Rallies to a 20-Point Victory Over Loma Linda

Sophomore forward Tom Bruner scored a game-high 28 points and junior point guard Larry Lopez had a career-high 18 assists and added eight points as The Master’s rolled to a 97-77 win over Loma Linda in nonconference game at Loma Linda.

Loma Linda led, 45-44, at halftime, but Master’s (3-2) took the lead for good in the first minute of the second half.

Women

Point Loma 71, Occidental 67--Kelly Stephenson scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Sharon Bruner scored 15 points for Occidental (2-2), but it wasn’t enough in a nonconference game at Point Loma.

Shannon Abrams had 16 points and 11 rebounds for Point Loma (2-1).

Canyons 86, Palomar 49--Forward Tressie Millender had 12 points and 10 rebounds, and forward Dawn Coleman added 10 points and 15 rebounds as Canyons (6-1) notched its sixth consecutive win in a nonconference game at Palomar.

Guard Keira Irwin scored 16 points and handed out 10 assists for the winners.

Girls

Taft 54, Westchester 26--Colleen Pratt scored 32 points and Alissa Tishler added 12 points and seven assists for Taft (1-0) in an opener for both teams at Taft.
