SHORT TAKES : Goodall ‘Chimps Like Us!’ to Air

Cable’s Home Box Office will present a family documentary “Chimps Like Us!” with renowned ethologist Jane Goodall, it was announced today by Bridget Potter, senior vice president for original programming at HBO. Tentatively slated for an April debut, the half-hour special follows Goodall through Tanzania’s Gombe National Park to provide a peek into the world of the wild chimpanzee--the animal more like humans than any other. The film also includes footage of Goodall’s visits to chimps in captivity in the United States.

Goodall, the world’s leading chimpanzee expert, began her study of chimps in their natural environment 30 years ago.
