PREP SOCCER ROUNDUP : Wright Sparks Huntington Beach

Chris Wright scored a goal in each half to lead Huntington Beach High School to a 2-0 victory over El Dorado in a nonleague soccer match Tuesday at El Dorado.

Matt Acocello and Thomas Kleisli each had an assist for Huntington Beach. Acocello also played goalie in the second half and had four saves. El Dorado is 3-2-3.

In other boys’ nonleague soccer:

Esperanza 3, Servite 1--Center/halfback Jason Delucca scored two goals in the opening six minutes for visiting Esperanza (7-2-3).

In nonleague girls’ soccer:

Woodbridge 1, Newport Harbor 0--With eight minutes left, Talia Emery scored for host Woodbridge (6-2-1) on a pass from Mindy Hawley. Tonya Dzurrilla had four saves en route to her third consecutive shutout.

La Quinta 3, Estancia 0--Stefanie Stucker, Cheryl Jones and Stacey Ranaga scored to lead host La Quinta (5-2).

Sunny Hills 3, Laguna Hills 0--Louine Verneuil, Stacy Thurber and Kelly Ward scored for host Sunny Hills (6-1-1). Laguna Hills is 4-5-1.

Sunny Hills goalie Shannan Brown recorded her fourth shutout of the season and second one this week.

Edison 1, El Modena 1--Alysson Gibbs scored for Edison (4-3-2) and Gina Cameron scored for host El Modena (5-2-2). Edison goalie Nikki Turner had eight saves.

Villa Park 2, Fullerton 1--Caprice Power and Elizabeth Green scored for host Villa Park (2-4-1).

Los Alamitos 3, South Torrance 1--Julie Harris scored two goals and Karen Kolodziej had the other for the visiting Griffins (5-2).
