The Debate Continues: Is Miami, Notre Dame or San Diego St. No. 1?
Methinks that Mike Downey’s Irish was showing after his diatribe regarding Notre Dame not being No. 1.
Notre Dame’s mistake is that it picked the wrong team to lose to--any other team on its regular schedule and they would have been No. 1. They not only lost to Miami, they were destroyed, 27-10.
And how do high school and college conferences plus the NFL decide winners when there’s a tie between two teams? The first factor is nearly always who won the head-to-head competition.
