In another Empire League game:

Katella 47, Los Alamitos 46--With seven seconds to play, Ruth Harker stole the ball and made a layup to give Katella the victory at Los Alamitos. Allison Arredondo led all scorers with 25 points for Los Alamitos (0-2, 4-10). Margaret Harker scored 16 for Katella (5-9, 1-1).

In the Angelus League:

Mater Dei 56, Rosary 51--Jean Maurer scored 16 points for host Mater Dei (10-4, 1-1). Diane Wiskus had 24 points and 13 rebounds for visiting Rosary (9-3, 1-1).

In the Century League:

Canyon 55, Villa Park 53--Sheri Rhyne hit both ends of a one-and-one with 30 seconds left to give host Canyon a 55-51 lead. Dee Moore had 22 points and Kori Dalbey had 15 points for Canyon (6-4, 1-1). Evonne Caouette had 16 points and Amy Shipley had 12 points for Villa Park (1-8, 0-2).

Foothill 51, El Modena 42--Sandi Rasmussen had 19 points and Heli Syrjanen had 13 for host Foothill (7-8, 2-0).

In the Freeway League:

Fullerton 64, Sunny Hills 46--Visiting Fullerton outscored Sunny Hills, 19-0, in the first quarter and built the lead to 25-0 before Sunny Hills scored in the second quarter. Lynn Gilbert had 17 points and Jennifer Comstock had 15 for Fullerton (9-4, 1-0).

In the Olympic League:

Whittier Christian 69, Santa Margarita 68--Santa Margarita’s rally fell short when Kristen Mulligan missed a halfcourt shot at the buzzer at Whittier Christian. Mulligan scored 13 of her game-high 34 points in the fourth quarter as the Eagles (7-6, 2-2) outscored Whittier Christian, 26-9.

Valley Christian 46, Capistrano Valley Christian 27--Elainie Kollias scored 12 for host Capistrano Valley Christian (4-7, 2-2). Lori Klein scored 20 for Valley Christian (11-2, 4-0).

In the Orange League:

Brea-Olinda 103, Magnolia 35--Host Brea won its 37th consecutive game. Aimee McDaniel had 22 points, eight assists, eight rebounds and six steals and Tammy Blackburn had 16 points, 12 assists and seven steals for the Wildcats (15-0, 1-0). Allison Bickel added 18 points for Brea, which removed its starters at halftime.

Valencia 86, Western 46--Hollie Keeton had 20 points and Sig Lo had 12 to lead host Valencia (6-8, 1-0).

Savanna 85, Anaheim 11--Carrie Fredrick scored 26 points, had 11 assists and 12 rebounds to lead Savanna (10-5, 1-0) at home. Jackie Boxley added 19 points and 11 rebounds and Stacey Aliff had 18 points for Savanna, which led at halftime, 43-6.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Laguna Hills 39, Laguna Beach 19--Dionne Martin had 20 points, 14 rebounds and seven steals and Andrea Nelson had nine points and 12 rebounds for host Laguna Hills (5-7, 1-0). Nicki Klempen had eight points for Laguna Beach.

Orange 53, Trabuco Hills 48--Orange trailed at the half, 27-25, but rallied to lead, 41-33, after three quarters. Nicole Champion, a senior center, had 21 points and 14 rebounds for Orange. Ginnie Hall had 11 for Orange (9-4, 1-0). Shelly Calhoun had 17 for Trabuco Hills (4-9, 0-1).

Woodbridge 56, Costa Mesa 52--Kim Dean scored 14 points and had eight steals, Leslie Rathbun added 19 points and Tami Williams had 15 for visiting Woodbridge (10-4, 1-0). Thuy Nguyen scored 19 for Costa Mesa (6-8, 0-1).

In the South Coast League:

Capistrano Valley 58, Mission Viejo 41--Bridget Baker scored 16 points and Alisa Farr 15 to lead host Capistrano Valley (10-6, 1-0). Farr scored seven points in the first quarter as Capistrano Valley opened a 17-6 lead. Capistrano Valley led, 32-19, at the half. Peggy Rivas added 11 for Capistrano Valley. Jennifer Rohrig scored 18 points for Mission Viejo.

El Toro 60, Dana Hills 32--El Toro had four players in double figures. Sara Bone had 20 points and Danielle Silva had 13 for El Toro (12-4, 2-0) at home. Erin Schimeneck had 10 points for Dana Hills, 0-2 in league play.

In the Sunset League:

Ocean View 52, Fountain Valley 43--Jenny Sullivan scored 19 points and Fabiloa Nunez had 17 for host Ocean View (16-1, 1-0). Tracy Wolfe added 10 for Ocean View. Ocean View outscored Fountain Valley, 17-8, in the third quarter to take a 41-29 lead. Nunez scored in the third quarter and added three steals. Julie Workman and Jennifer Barbaro scored 17 each for Fountain Valley (10-6, 0-1).

Marina 78, Westminster 32--Melisa Sortino had 17 points and six assists, Gillian Bean had 14 points and Leslie Ono had 10 points and a career-high eight assists for host Marina (12-4, 1-0).

In the Sea View League:

Tustin 58, University 53--Christine Garner had 26 points and Wanda Sequeira had 17, including nine in the fourth quarter for host Tustin (12-5, 1-0). University’s Denise Gandara had 26 points despite being double-teamed most of the game. She also had nine rebounds. University is 10-4, 0-1.

Saddleback 35, Estancia 33--Janet Chacon scored with 17 seconds left to break a 33-33 tie for visiting Saddleback (6-7, 1-0). Chacon led Saddleback with 14 points. Priscilla Sarmiento added 11 for Saddleback.

Newport Harbor 44, Corona del Mar 33--Forward Stacey Giem scored 28 points to lead host Newport Harbor (5-7, 1-0). Giem scored four points in the first quarter, eight in the second, six in the third and 10 in the fourth.
