Gumbel Back on Golf Tour: “Today” host Bryant Gumbel, who began his broadcasting career as a sportscaster for KNBC in Los Angeles, will dust off his spikes and return to sports as the host of NBC Sports’ 1990 professional golf coverage. Gumbel, who will continue his “Today” role, will begin his duties on the putting green at the Bob Hope Classic, Jan. 20-21. . . . And teen pop idols New Kids on the Block will star in a half-hour, live-action/animated Saturday-morning series debuting in the fall on ABC.
