The Antelope Valley High soccer team completed an emotional day with a 5-1 victory over Quartz Hill in a Golden League match Friday at home.

Earlier, the team attended a memorial service for Chris Sanford, the Antelopes’ goalkeeper who was gunned down last week at a party in Lancaster.

At the conclusion of the match, Antelope Valley players raced from the field and gathered around Sanford’s parents in the stands in a show of solidarity.
