BIG WEST ROUNDUP : Pacific Finally Ends Road Woes
Don Lyttle made a basket and seven free throws in the final minute to help Pacific win its first conference road game in nearly three years, beating San Jose State, 78-71, Saturday night.
The Tigers’ last conference road victory was Jan. 22, 1987, at Fresno State.
Pacific, 10-6 overall and 3-4 in the Big West, is off to its best start since the 1980-81 season. San Jose State is 5-10, 3-4.
Utah State 68, Fresno State 65--Rich Jardine scored 12 of his 14 points in the final nine minutes and Allan Gordon made two free throws with 15 seconds left to lead the Aggies at Fresno.
Fresno State (6-9, 1-5) had a 50-36 lead with 14:27 left before the Aggies (11-7, 5-2) rallied.
