Canoga Park 41, Chatsworth 36--Marcus Reed scored a game-high 16 points to lead Canoga Park (9-11, 1-6) to its first win in West Valley League play this season. Craig Hewitt led host Chatsworth (3-13, 0-7) with 11 points.

Kennedy 61, Taft 57--After falling behind by 13 points at halftime, Taft closed the gap to two points twice in the fourth quarter but could get no closer in a North Valley League game at Taft.

Kennedy’s Garret Anderson scored a game-high 37 points. Josh Etting added 17 for Kennedy (11-8, 4-3). Jason Deyoe led Taft (13-8, 3-4) with 19 points, and James Yoakum added 13.

Grant 41, Birmingham 31--Keith Weinstein scored a game-high 16 points to lead host Grant in a slowdown East Valley League game.

Brian Bennett scored a team-high 10 points for Birmingham (7-10, 4-3). The Lancers (17-3, 7-0) clinched at least a tie for the league title.

Poly 82, Sylmar 74--Red Mendoza scored 20 points as Poly (2-16, 1-6) earned its first East Valley League win of the season. Nick Aldaba and Jason Wildon added 17 and 16 points for the Parrots.

North Hollywood 75, Monroe 62--Dana Jones contributed 21 points, 14 rebounds, 10 blocks and five steals to keep host North Hollywood atop the Mid-Valley League standings. Tommy Byrdsong scored 15, and Robert Hill added 10 for the Huskies (18-2, 6-1). Jesse Wallace (18 points), Craig Haith (17), and Elmer Singh (10) paced Monroe (3-13, 2-5).

Reseda 78, Van Nuys 55--James Pigford scored a career-high 19 points and three other Regents scored in double figures as Reseda rolled to a Mid-Valley League win at home. Marquis Wilborn (15 points), Mike Basowski (14 points) and James Chen (13 points, 16 assists) also had big nights for Reseda (9-8, 5-2). Van Nuys (2-16, 1-6) was led by Michael Crawford with 15 points.

Crespi 87, Alemany 75--Scott Barton scored 19 points and John Curtin came off the bench to add 13 to lead Crespi (10-10, 4-2) in a Del Rey League game at home. Ryan Nordyke scored 12 points, Christian Fauria scored eight and grabbed 12 rebounds, and Matt Luderer had nine assists.

Alemany (8-14, 1-4) was paced by Matt Geyer (17 points), Will Burr (16) and Tim Fontenette (12).

Royal 71, Camarillo 62--Russell Myers scored a game-high 19 points as host Royal used a nine-point third-quarter advantage to win a Marmonte League game.

Chad Smith and Jared Byrne scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, for Royal (18-4, 7-1). Rick Schnell scored a team-high 17 points for Camarillo (13-7, 4-4).

Simi Valley 66, Westlake 63--Steve Carnes scored a game-high 22 points for Simi Valley in a Marmonte League game at Simi Valley. Carnes also made six steals and had seven assists. Chris Printz and Mike Wawryk added 14 and 12 points for Simi Valley (14-7, 6-2).

Newbury Park 77, Channel Islands 66--Kevin Loveall scored 27 points as Newbury Park (7-12, 1-7) earned its first Marmonte League win. Channel Islands’ Marlo Durmiendo led all scorers with 29 points and Noe Noyola added 19 for Channel Islands (7-12, 1-7).

Palmdale 63, Quartz Hill 57--Palmdale held Quartz Hill’s Gabe Higa, who was averaging 23.6 points a game, to just one field goal and 14 points in a Golden League game at Palmdale. Chris DeGlopper scored a game-high 22 points for Palmdale (12-9, 4-2) and teammate John Johnson scored 20.

Crescenta Valley 85, Hoover 67--Falcon guard Lamar Breeding notched a triple-double with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in a Pacific League game at Crescenta Valley. Steve Finch scored 22 for Crescenta Valley (13-8, 5-2), and teammates Bill Crocket and Paul Matijasevic added 15 and 13, respectively.

John Hillman scored a game-high 29 for Hoover (4-15, 1-6).

Saugus 54, Ridgecrest Burroughs 32--Center Greg Yumbar scored six points during a 7-0 run at the start of the second quarter as the host Centurions (5-14, 1-5) pulled away for their first Golden League win. Yumbar finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Burbank 67, San Gabriel 59--Joe Warner scored eight of his 11 points in the fourth quarter as the Bulldogs withstood a late charge to post the win in a Foothill League game at San Gabriel. Paul Tapp topped Burbank (3-14, 2-4) with 19 points.

Harvard 74, Bell-Jeff 53--Matt Clark scored 21 points and Rick Osterloh added 19 as the host Saracens (17-2, 6-0) won their 10th game in a row.

Agoura 90, Santa Paula 55--Agoura walloped Santa Paula with 58 second-half points in a Frontier League game at Agoura. Sean Martin led Agoura (10-7, 3-3) with 23 points and had six assists.

Calabasas 49, Santa Ynez 39--Jim Friedlander scored six points in the decisive second quarter as Calabasas prevailed in a Frontier League game at Santa Ynez. Friedlander and Mitch Chernow each scored 12 points, and Bob Leff added 10 for Calabasas (10-8, 4-2).

Montclair Prep 50, L. A. Baptist 36--Jackie Shemtov and J.T. Billingslea each scored 12 points as host Montclair Prep (15-3, 8-0) continued to roll through the Alpha League.

Western Christian 78, Village Christian 67--Kenny Crawford scored 22 points to lead Western Christian in an Alpha League game at Village Christian. Matt Henzie led Village Christian (6-12, 2-6) with 25 points and Matt Teachout had eight assists.

Fillmore 52, Moorpark 50--Fillmore’s Richard Aguilera scored a game-high 28 points, including a layup with 20 seconds left to seal a Tri-Valley League victory at Fillmore. Brian Lester, who scored a team-high 14 points for Moorpark (10-8, 4-2), missed a three-point shot with three seconds left.

Bel-Air Prep 55, Campbell Hall 53--Dino Stephens stole the ball from Phil Bruno (23 points, 16 rebounds) while he was trying to call a timeout with five seconds left and hit a layup as time expired in a Delphic League game.
