Trabuco Hills 92, La Quinta 65--Trabuco Hills made its first eight field goals, including three three-pointers, for a 33-11 lead and was never threatened at Mission Viejo.

Trabuco Hills (17-11), last year’s 3-A division champion, meets Servite Friday in the second round. Servite advanced with a 57-49 victory over Troy.

Guards Tim Manning, Randy Kriech and Beau Hossler each scored 10 points in the first quarter. Trabuco Hills, which led, 24-2, didn’t miss a shot until Kriech missed a three-pointer with 2:30 remaining.

Trabuco Hills’ full-court pressure forced nine La Quinta turnovers in the first quarter. Trabuco Hills made 10 of 14 shots in the first quarter.

Manning led all scorers with 26 points by making nine of 12 shots. Trabuco Hills made 31 of 59 field goals to 26 of 69 for La Quinta (2-21).
