GIRLS’ ROUNDUP : Costa Mesa Has Too Much for Workman

Olivia DiCamilli had 18 points and Rachel Ward had 12 as Costa Mesa defeated Workman, 55-30, in a 3-A girls’ basketball playoff game Wednesday at Costa Mesa.
The Mustangs (14-12) got out to a 16-1 lead in the first quarter and led 30-11 at the half.
In a 3-A game:
Rosary 41, Northview 37--Diane Wiskus scored 13 points and had 11 rebounds and Julie Peterson scored 10 points and had nine rebounds off the bench to lead visiting Rosary (13-8).
In a 2-AA game:
Santa Margarita 50, Loretto Conaty 32--Kristen Mulligan had 20 points and eight rebounds and Jenna Ricker added eight points and 11 rebounds for Santa Margarita (18-6).
In a 2-A game:
Bell-Jeff 48, Orange Lutheran 42--Bell-Jeff took an early 9-0 lead but Orange Lutheran railed and trailed by only two at the half, 22-20. Orange Lutheran took the lead early in the third quarter, 25-24, on a basket by Jackie Bagatourian and led 36-34 after the third quarter. But Becky Pearson, the Lancers’ 5-11 center fouled out with 2:54 remaining in the third quarter and Bell-Jeff took control in the fourth.
Orange (6-15) was led by Pam Marty, who had 12 points and 11 rebounds. Judy Daza had 18 and Keisha Scott had 12 for Bell-Jeff (15-10).
In a 1-A game:
Capistrano Valley Christian 43, Connolly 17--Elainie Kollais and Carrie Shannon each scored 16 point for host Capistrano Valley Christian, which led 14-12 at the half before solving the Connolly slowdown. Capistrano led 27-16 after the third quarter and then outscored Connolly 16-1 in the fourth quarter. Capistrano improved to 8-14. Connolly is 7-6.
In the Small Schools game:
Liberty Christian 41, Desert Christian 25--Jen Caruso scored 16 points and Lisa Gray added 11 points and 12 steals to lead Liberty Christian (12-7) at home. Kerry McConnell led Desert Christian with 14 points.
