Hesperia Christian Wins With Late Run

A third-quarter surge helped Hesperia Christian High School take control as the school defeated Capistrano Valley Christian, 60-45, in a girls’ 1-A division playoff game Monday night at Hesperia.
Capistrano Valley Christian led, 22-18, at the half but Hesperia (21-4) took control in the third quarter with a 15-0 run.
Hesperia made 22 of 37 free throws to nine of 17 for Capistrano Valley Christian, which had four players foul out.
Elainie Kollias scored 12 points before fouling out late in the fourth quarter and Carrie Shannon had 11 for Capistrano Valley Christian (8-15).
Sally Ruisch had 16 points and Kim Kunkel 15 for Hesperia.
