Golden West Women Play for State Berth
The Golden West women’s basketball team will be seeking its fourth consecutive appearance in the state tournament when it plays host to El Camino at 5 tonight. The winner will advance to the state tournament, March 1-3 at College of the Sequoias in Visalia.
Golden West (33-1), the top-seeded team in the Southern California division, gained the second round with a 115-61 victory over Antelope Valley Wednesday. El Camino (22-7) advanced by defeating Moorpark, 77-59.
The Golden West and Orange Coast men’s basketball teams play at 7:30 tonight in the opening round of the playoffs. Golden West plays host to Pasadena, and Orange Coast is at Moorpark.
Golden West (21-10) is the 12th-seeded team, and Pasadena (14-16) is No. 21. OCC (14-13) is seeded No. 20, and Moorpark (21-10) is No. 13.
