The Phoenix Suns signed former Laker guard Mike McGee to a contract for the rest of the season and placed guard Jeff Hornacek on the injured-reserve list. Hornacek has been sidelined because of a knee injury.
McGee, a first-round draft pick by the Lakers in 1981 out of Michigan, has been playing in Italy.
