2 Men Critically Injured in Fight Near City Hall
Two men standing nearly toe to toe in downtown Los Angeles shot and stabbed each other about 6 p.m. Tuesday in a parking lot across from City Hall, leaving both assailants hospitalized in critical condition, police said.
“It was sort of like the Old West,” said Sgt. David Torres.
The two unidentified men started arguing at 1st and Main streets, and one pulled a gun and the other a knife, Torres said. The gunman fired three to five shots while the man with the knife stabbed his opponent in return, the sergeant said.
Police in a patrol car heard the shots and ended the bloody exchange.
