Canyon 1, Santa Ana Valley 0--Traci Himes’ RBI sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth gave fourth-ranked Canyon (16-3, 4-2) the victory over Santa Ana Valley (7-9, 2-4).

In the Angelus League:

Mater Dei 3, St. Joseph 0--Pitcher Jennifer Clark (12-0) collected her sixth shutout in as many league games for top-ranked Mater Dei (17-2, 6-0).

In the Empire League:

El Dorado 2, Cypress 1--Cypress (19-5, 5-1) had its 13-game victory streak ended. With the score tied, El Dorado’s Silvia Reyes scored from third on a wild pitch in the bottom of the sixth.

In the Freeway League:

La Habra 2, Buena Park 1--In the sixth inning, Stephanie Bakke scored on an error and Sara Mallett scored the winning run on Cathy Turner’s line drive to center. Eighth-ranked Buena Park is 13-2-1, 5-1.

In the Garden Grove League:

Kennedy 4, La Quinta 1--Cheryl Longeway pitched a one-hitter, had seven strikeouts and four walks. Nicole Paloney had two hits and one RBI for Kennedy.

Garden Grove 1, Bolsa Grande 0--Garden Grove’s Kelly White scored on Becky Eggers’ double in the fourth inning for Garden Grove (17-3-1, 9-0-1). Stephanie Smith pitched a one-hitter, striking out eight and walking three.

Pacifica 2, Los Amigos 0--Jennifer Surface pitched a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts to bring her season total to 110 for Pacifica (10-6, 6-4).

In the Pacific Coast League:

Trabuco Hills 6, Orange 0--Brianna Burkman pitched a two-hitter, struck out nine and walked one to lead Trabuco Hills (17-6, 6-0). Amy Rodriguez had two hits, including a home run, and scored three times.

In the Sunset League:

Ocean View 2, Fountain Valley 0--Shannon Pouelsen hit a two-run homer in the fourth to lead Ocean View (15-8, 3-3) over Fountain Valley (5-1 in league).

In nonleague softball:

Garden Grove Claremont 19, Calvary Baptist 15--Senior third baseman Amy Miller had three hits and five RBIs, giving her 41 RBIs for the season, to lead Claremont (7-7) over host Calvary Baptist (0-4).

In Orange League golf:

Valencia 203, Brea-Olinda 239--Senior Chris Tidland shot a one-under-par 36 at Imperial golf course to lead Valencia (15-1, 8-0), which clinched its fourth consecutive league title.

In Pacific Coast League golf:

Trabuco Hills 204, Laguna Beach 242--Mark Christensen shot a three-over-par 39 to lead Trabuco Hills (13-4, 8-1), which clinched the league championship at Coto de Caza.

In Olympic League boys’ track and field:

Santa Margarita 93, Ontario Christian 32--James Buckley won the 1,600 meters (4 minutes 43.3 seconds), the 800 (2:08.1) and the 3,200 (10:35.4) for Santa Margarita. In Sea View League boys’ track and field:

Corona del Mar 77, Newport Harbor 61--Mark Barnum won the 100 (11.0) and 400 meters (51.5) runs to lead Corona del Mar (8-1, 4-1) at home. Newport Harbor is 4-5, 3-2.

In Empire League boys’ volleyball:

Foothill 3, El Dorado 0--John Newcomb had 15 kills and five blocks to lead Foothill (13-1, 8-0) to an 18-16, 15-3, 15-10 victory over host El Dorado (5-3 in league).
