COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Cypress Wins, 5-0, to Clinch Softball Title

Cypress College clinched the Orange Empire Conference softball championship with a 5-0 victory over Rancho Santiago Monday at Cypress.
It was also the Chargers’ single-season record 37th victory. The Chargers have lost only five games and are 15-2 in conference.
Laura Corson pitched a four-hitter and had two hits and drove in two runs. Corson (19-2) has a team-high 12 shutouts this season.
In other Orange Empire Conference softball games:
Fullerton 3, Orange Coast 2 (eight innings)--Dawn Salter, who went two for three, drove in a run with her single in the bottom of the eighth inning as Fullerton (8-25, 7-11) ended OCC’s chances for a share of the conference title.
Nancy Johnson went two for three for OCC (30-11, 13-4).
Riverside 2, Saddleback 1 (10 innings)--Riverside (6-28, 1-16) won its first conference game of the season when it scored an unearned run in the bottom of the 10th inning.
Cindy Lendzion’s infield single drove in Lisa Delgado, who reached base on an error by Saddleback shortstop Leanne Davis. Riverside also scored an unearned run in the first.
Yesenia Dubyak went three for four with an RBI for Saddleback (16-20, 8-9).
In the Orange Empire Conference golf championships:
Tracey Fettrow shot a 10-over-par 154 over 36 holes and finished second to lead Saddleback (783 points) to the title.
