A 42-year-old man died in a fire Tuesday and another man was injured when he jumped from the burning duplex, the Vista Fire Department reported.
Long Van Lam was found dead in an upstairs bathtub of the two-story residence in the 800 block of Raintree Place.
Chanh Nguyen, 29, was flown to Palomar Memorial Hospital where he was listed in fair condition, said a hospital spokeswoman. He suffered a fractured right hip when he jumped from a second-story window.
Fire Marshal Paul Dawson said a neighbor summoned firefighters at 5:51 a.m. after spotting the fire. When firefighters arrived about six minutes later, flames were coming out the windows of the residence, Dawson said.
Damage is estimated at $115,000.
Lam owned the residence, but shared it with Nguyen and Nguyen’s father, Lich Cong Nguyen.
