Share

When Kennedy High Coach Manny Alvarado asked Garret Anderson to take extra batting practice this week, the senior outfielder gave the coach a quizzical look.

After all, Fresno State-bound Anderson entered the week batting .385.

“He said, ‘Why, I’m not in a slump.’ ” Alvarado said. “And I said, ‘You’re not in a groove, either.’ He knows what a groove is now.”

Anderson slammed three home runs Friday--including a game-winning solo shot in the bottom of the seventh--to lead Kennedy to a 16-15 win over Cleveland in a North Valley League game at Kennedy.
