O’Bannon Heads ‘Fabulous 44’ South Team List

All-American forward Ed O’Bannon of Artesia High School heads the list of selections for the South team that will participate in the “Fabulous 44” all-star basketball game scheduled for June 24 at UC Irvine’s Bren Center.

O’Bannon, who announced Thursday he will attend Nevada Las Vegas in the fall, led Artesia to the State Division II basketball title.

Three Orange County players--center Robert Conlisk of Los Alamitos, swingman Andy Karich of Mater Dei and forward Scott McCorkle of Capistrano Valley--were named to the 11-man squad.

Tim Sweeney of Lakewood will coach the team against a group of Northern California all-stars and will be assisted by Dick Katz of Westminster and Russell Otis of Dominguez.

The South team:
