Motorcyclist Dies in I-8 Accident
A motorcyclist traveling west on Interstate 8 at 80 to 100 m.p.h. was killed Sunday morning when he changed lanes and rear-ended a small car, authorities said.
Geoffrey Raymond Groom, 35, of San Diego died at the scene of massive head injuries, a spokesman for the San Diego County coroner’s office said.
The accident occurred at 11:24 a.m. near the Interstate 5 junction, a spokesman for the California Highway Patrol said. The driver of the car was not injured.
