SOUTHERN SECTION TENNIS PLAYOFFS : Leach’s Record Now 57-0; Laguna Beach Rolls

Jon Leach swept his sets, 6-0, 6-0, 6-1, and led Laguna Beach High School to a 14-4 victory over host Riverside North in a Southern Section 3-A second-round playoff match Friday.

Leach is 57-0 on the season.

The Laguna Beach doubles team of Bobby Nichols and Matt White also swept, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.

In another 3-A match:

Woodbridge 15, El Dorado 3--Rajan Saggar swept, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2, and Eric Berg swept, 7-5, 6-2, 6-4, to lead visiting Woodbridge (18-3). In doubles, Victor Ro and Darren Isaacman swept, 6-3, 6-0, 6-4.

In 4-A matches:

University 14, Fountain Valley 4--Roger Lo swept, 6-1, 6-0, 6-2, to lead host University (14-5).

Corona del Mar 11, Ventura 7--Ken Alston and Marshall Solomon swept their doubles sets, 6-1, 6-2, 6-0, to lead Corona del Mar (20-2) at the Newport Beach Tennis Club.
