Field Hockey Event Slated at Moorpark
The 19th California Cup field hockey tournament will be held at Moorpark College on Saturday through Monday. With 67 teams and more than 700 players, this year’s field is the Cup’s largest. Competition will be held in a variety of divisions based on sex and age.
Teams from West Germany, India, Mexico, Taiwan and other countries will participate as well as about 20 teams from Ventura County. Some foreign teams reportedly will include Olympians.
Competition begins each day at 7:30 a.m. The championship games in each division of the round-robin tournaments will be played Monday.
