SOUTHERN SECTION TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS : Hansen, Gibson Win for Newport Harbor

Billy Hansen and Brad Gibson of Newport Harbor High School defeated Dan Brodenzano and Tony Pangan of Hart, 5-7, 7-6, in the quarterfinals of the Southern Section individual championships at Huntington Beach.

Sean McKenna and Derek Shinden of Thousand Oaks High overcame a 5-2 deficit in the tiebreaker of the second set to defeat Kenny Alsten and Marshall Solomon of Corona del Mar, 6-4, 7-6.

Earlier, McKenna and Shinden defeated Brett Isaacman and Reza Nilforoushan of Woodbridge, 6-1, 6-0, in a first-round match.
