Anderson, Hurley Among U.S. Team Finalists
Kenny Anderson of Georgia Tech and Bobby Hurley of Duke, who led their teams to the Final Four as freshmen, were among the 16 finalists for the USA National Basketball Team announced Sunday in Durham, N.C.
Others who survived the cut after the two-day mini-camp at Duke included Christian Laettner of Duke, Alonzo Mourning of Georgetown, Doug Smith of Missouri and Billy Owens of Syracuse.
The rest of the group is Todd Day and Lee Mayberry of Arkansas; Chris Gattling of Old Dominion; Mark Randall of Kansas; Kevin Lynch of Minnesota; Chris Mills of Arizona; Chris Smith of Connecticut; Bryant Stith of Virginia; Clarence Witherspoon of Southern Mississippi and Henry Williams of North Carolina Charlotte.
