Fillmore : Pilot, Passenger Not Hurt in Plane Crash
A private plane en route to Santa Barbara lost power Tuesday afternoon and crashed into the Santa Clara river bottom about five miles east of Fillmore, officials said.
Pilot Robert Fenske, 23, and his passenger, Jerry Meglin, 42, both of Santa Barbara, were not injured in the 3:30 p.m. crash.
The single-engine plane, a Cessna 152, lodged its front wheel in the sand and flipped over, said Ken Maffei, a captain with the Ventura County Fire Department.
The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the cause of the crash.
