A fire caused $400,000 in damage to three stores late Sunday night, but no one was injured. Three fire companies answered the 10 p.m. call at a small shopping mall in the 3400 block of East Plaza Boulevard. It took about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control, said Nancy Ruland of the National City Fire Department.
Lita Crone, who owns Lita’s Hairstyling nearby, said the three businesses destroyed were Milo Beauty and Barber Supply, Late Night Video, and Tae Kwon Do.
