The top two male and female finishers in Saturday’s national championship 16-mile races of the Seal Beach Rough Water Swim will travel to Perth, Australia, in January to represent the United States in the long-distance world championships.
The 16-mile national championship races from Seal Beach to Huntington Beach will begin at 5 a.m. and be followed by the 10-mile race at 6 a.m. and the national championship three-mile race at 7.
Age-group races and the Seal Beach Mile begin later in the day.
The field includes Paul Asmuth, the world pro champion who has won eight of the last 10 years.
