Calling the attempted murder charges against him “a case of greed,” wide receiver Ricky Sanders practiced as the Washington Redskins opened training camp for rookies and some veterans.

Sanders is accused of trying to run down a parking lot attendant outside a Houston topless bar last May 1. An attorney for Sam Jamus, the parking manager, has said that Jamus also is considering a civil suit.

Sanders wouldn’t comment on newspaper reports that the charges were filed only after he was unwilling to agree to an out-of-court civil agreement.
