Oprah’s Universal Appeal: Oprah Winfrey goes global as her talk show debuts in Poland this week. King World International announced that Polish TV Channel 2 has acquired 52 episodes of “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” The program will air weekly with a Polish voice-over on Sunday nights at 8 p.m., one of the most highly viewed time slots on Polish TV. Tomasz Raczek, the deputy director of Channel 2, said, “We have chosen Oprah because after 40 years of Communism . . . we feel that we can all learn to speak more openly by the example of Oprah Winfrey.”
