Two Bellflower Bobby Sox Teams Win Softball Division Championships

Bellflower Bobby Sox sent two teams to Tamarack Park in Brea for the four-day District Championship Tournament, which ended Tuesday. Both teams emerged victorious in their respective divisions.

The Bobby Sox division team, ages 9-11, District 65, beat Canyon Hills, 10-5; Brea Hills Gold, 20-3; Brea Hills Green, 4-3, and Brea Hills Green again, 10-7, in extra innings to take the district championship.

The American Girls Division team, ages 12-14, District 66, beat Villa Park, 15-1; Brea Hills, 5-0, and Brea Hills again, 20-2, to take the district championship.

Both teams advance to the national tournament planned Aug. 16-21 at the USSSA Softball Complex in San Clemente.
