A wake will be held for Carlos Chavez, a prominent boxer in Los Angeles in the 1940s, at 7 p.m., Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church, 2210 Sichel St. in Lincoln Heights. Chavez, 68, was fatally shot a block from his home last Wednesday in Eagle Rock.
