FILLMORE : 2 Bodies Found in Crashed Plane

The Ventura County Sheriff's Department, making a routine helicopter flight over the Los Padres National Forest on Monday, found a crashed plane and two bodies believed to be missing for at least a month, officials said.

Two men were found dead about 1 p.m. in an area called Bear Haven, 11 miles west of Fillmore, said Sheriff's Lt. Joe Funchess.

Identification and notification of relatives is not expected until Tuesday, said Deputy Coroner Dale Zentzis.

The Federal Aviation Administration also was investigating the area Monday, FAA Regional Duty Officer Jerry Acosta said.

The plane is a red and white, single-engine Cessna, Acosta said.
