IN BRIEF : VENTURA FREEWAY : Work Will Cause Weekend Closures

Portions of the Ventura Freeway near the San Diego Freeway interchange will be closed this weekend due to construction, Caltrans announced Friday. From 11 p.m. Saturday to 11 a.m. Sunday the southbound San Diego Freeway connector road to the eastbound Ventura Freeway, as well as the northbound San Diego Freeway connector road to the eastbound Ventura Freeway, will be closed. Two eastbound lanes between Balboa Boulevard and Kester Avenue and three eastbound on-ramps--Hayvenhurst Avenue, Balboa Boulevard, Sepulveda Boulevard--will also be closed. The closures are part of the Ventura Improvement Project, a $76-million effort to widen and improve the freeway.
