OXNARD : Man, 71, Accused of Child Molestation
A 71-year-old Oxnard man was being held Saturday on child pornography and molestation charges after two girls told authorities he had shown them nude pictures of their friends, Oxnard Police Sgt. Frank Devorick said.
James P. Foran was held in Ventura County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail in connection with four offenses committed over the past 14 months against neighborhood girls between the ages of 10 and 12.
He was charged Friday with oral copulation with a minor, lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under 14 and two counts of child annoying, a jail officer said. Foran is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
“He appears to have targeted about a dozen girls,” Devorick said. “The investigation is continuing, and they may add some additional victims.”
